Galileo K-12 Online

One Complete System

Galileo K-12 Online Instructional Improvement and Effectiveness System is comprehensive, standards-based, and research supported. The system provides an array of innovative curriculum, assessment, instructional effectiveness, and reporting tools aligned to Common Core Standards and facilitates advancements in teaching strategies, assessments, and implementation of instructional effectiveness initiatives.

Comprehensive Instructional Improvement and Effectiveness

An all-in-one system

Establish instructional goals reflecting local curriculum, assess goal attainment, forecast standards mastery on statewide tests, and use assessment information to guide classroom instruction, differentiated instruction, and professional development all with Galileo K-12 Online.

Actionable Dashboards

Access information you need when you need it

Galileo offers Dashboards that provide pertinent information to users based on their task sets. The Teaching Dashboard supports work with both classes and intervention groups and is the go-to page for planning instruction, assessing students, and analyzing student progress. School- and district-level users may review summative school-level data in the School Performance Dashboard. Users with appropriate permissions may utilize the technology within the Instructional Effectiveness Dashboard to manage a complete instructional effectiveness system. The K-12 Student-Parent Center Dashboard provides a detailed assessment history on all completed benchmark, formative, and external assessments and also contains all available lessons and assignments so that they can be easily accessed by students and their parents.

Comprehensive Assessment System

Benefit from full coverage of local assessment needs

Access a range of assessment options built from item banks reflective of the consortium assessment approaches and aligned to Common Core State Standards and to individual state versions. Galileo’s redesigned testing interface features streamlined navigation and interactive online testing tools (e.g. calculators, marked-for-review, strikethrough, and note capabilities). Experience it for yourself through a Multi-Grade TE Items Sample assessment. The sample provides access to test items that represent a range of technology enhanced item types in several different grade levels and subjects. It demonstrates the look and feel of the Galileo assessments resembling those provided by PARCC, SBAC, and AIR.

Digital Curriculum Platform

Supports the integration of instruction, assessment, and reporting to promote learning

Districts/charters can easily integrate existing curriculum content, develop new curriculum content, and modify curriculums as needed using the Digital Curriculum Platform. The platform is fully integrated within Galileo K-12 Online, so school and classroom level users can quickly access the curriculum information in order to plan and implement curriculum, differentiated instruction, and assessments. Once scheduled through the platform, assignments and assessments are immediately available through the Galileo K-12 Student-Parent Center.

Instructional Effectiveness

Use Instructor effectiveness scores to inform professional development for the purpose
of enhancing teaching and leadership skills and elevating student performance

Galileo K-12 Online contains a flexible instructional effectiveness system. With its easy-to-use technology, Galileo provides support to districts and charters as they develop and implement local instructional effectiveness initiatives. Included are educator rating scales aligned to the Interstate Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (InTASC) and Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISSLC). Additionally, state, local, or with permission, third party rating scales may be imported for use in Galileo. Using the Score Compiler within Galileo, data from multiple sources (e.g., student performance data, educator proficiency ratings, surveys) can be combined and weighted to generate an individual instructional effectiveness score.

Instructional Units and Dialogs

Build and implement local online curricula

Use Instructional Units and Instructional Dialogs to plan, develop, and disseminate curriculums that integrate instruction with assessment and that meet rigorous standards. Instructional Units define the scope and sequence of instruction and offer a variety of resources to guide instruction. Within each Unit a series of online Instructional Dialogs enable the development and delivery of instruction and assessment within each Unit. A series of Units can form the complete curriculum for a particular subject and grade. Dialogs may include multimedia content, technology-enhanced lessons, assignments, assessments, and tools supporting online synchronous and asynchronous communication between students and teachers.
